Wellness Care - The Village Vet is not just a place to bring your pet when they are sick or injured. Through education, routine preventative care, behavioral counseling and training advice we help improve the relationship between you and your pet.
Surgery - We maintain an advanced, fully equipped surgical suite with anesthetic monitoring equipment that allows for the design of specific anesthetic protocols tailored to each patient’s medical needs. And we believe in providing pre-, intra-, and post-operative pain management using injectable, intravenous, and transdermal delivery systems, as well as conventional oral medication usage. We were the first veterinary hospital in Baltimore to offer laser surgery which results in less post operative pain and wound swelling.
Diagnostic Imaging - We have full digital radiographic capability including plain X-rays and contrast X-rays (barium, intravenous dyes and negative contrast) for evaluation of body cavities and certain organ systems. We also have ultrasound scanning capability for body cavity and organ evaluation. Ultrasound guided biopsy capability of abdominal organs or tumor masses is available. Endoscopic examination of the gastrointestinal tract is also available at our hospital.
Oncology Care – Diagnosis and management of various cancer disease is available at The Village Vet. Complex chemotherapy treatment and radiation management following initial surgical treatment is available on a referral basis.
Dentistry - The Village Vet offers routine dental surgical services (except endodontics). We perform full ultrasonic anesthetic procedures with dental polishing and fluoride treatment. High speed, water cooled dental equipment allows rapid removal of diseased teeth.
Pharmacy – Our in-hospital pharmacy maintains an inventory of most veterinary pharmaceuticals that are needed for pet health care. We also offer the use of a national veterinary pharmacy distributor (VetSource) that allows for online ordering from our website, the convenience of home delivery as well as broader availability and inventory of medications. Compounded medications are also available for our smaller pets and for those with special medication delivery needs. Our online and compounded medication sources are VIPPS certified.
